Sad news

This is the story of how a long time friend of my parents and our family met his maker last weekend.  Clouds of sadness gather around the people that knew John and although really sad, we are not surprised that this is how he left.  Robert, his son, is pretty amazing to say these words about his father.  http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/4275183/Search-for-body-scaled-back

Moving words indeed, x

I have to admit I finished the Eat, Pray, Love book but like you some of it left me feeling a little nauseous so I haven't bothered with the film at all. Maybe I'll give it a go, I can always console myself with a choc top with nuts if it gets too bad!
My son and I play the 'random kind things' game all the time, although I believe he gets his biggest kick from the looks of unadulterated terror as he bounds up to oldies offering his services... teenage boys, got to love them! x

What humbling words from Robert....it is a fitting way for John to go, but the sadness that the sea he so loved and spent so much time in is where this happened. I will always remember that tanned, strapping neighbour striding in and out of the sea at Taylors! I know for many it won't be the same there without him...love to you all. K.xx
